With Sybase WorkSpace, you work in a unified environment that supports these major development areas:
Enterprise Modeling. Sybase WorkSpace supports requirements analysis and design, data and replication modeling, object modeling using UML, and process modeling. It also enables reverse engineering of heterogeneous environments and automated script and code generation. Modeling is not always required. You can easily create new services or build services for existing business applications without using modeling, but modeling does assist with the design of complex projects.
Service Development. Graphical tools enable you to create services, define message transformations, and orchestrate services into composite applications. You can develop many types of services in Sybase WorkSpace; wizards and editors are provided to help you develop the specific services listed in the Services overview. The services you create can be deployed, reused, published, and shared with other members of the team. Even if you are new to SOA concepts, you can leverage existing assets as services.
Business Process and Integration Development. You can orchestrate services into a business process to build an integration solution. After you have created the business process service, you can add alerts, other services, business activity monitoring, custom wire formats, and database event management.
Database Development. Graphical development of SQL statements and advanced editing and debugging of stored procedures, triggers, and database events enable you to build data-driven applications.
Mobile Development. Sybase WorkSpace includes tooling to mobilize data, applications, services, and processes with support for both online and offline access.
