The Sybase WorkSpace integrated development environment allows you to work with multiple components to perform database tasks. Consider the type of database work you will be doing to determine which component would enable you to accomplish this work the best.
You can access the required functionality either from the navigation graphic on the Welcome page or from the Window|Open Perspective menu in the product. Go to Enterprise Modeling to
Create a Physical Data Model and design physical objects such as standard database objects
Reverse engineer a database schema.
Generate a database script or ODBC
Access Enterprise Modeling information from the Sybase PowerDesigner collection in the online bookshelf.
Go to Mobile Development to
Create a mobile application that contains a database element.
Go to Database Development to
Create a database service from a stored procedure or SQL query.
Create SQL files for organizing complex SQL statements
Edit procedural objects such as SQL dialog and content assist
Execute procedural objects
View execution results from SQL queries
Debug procedural objects
Create real-time messaging services
