Using online help, you can browse, search, and print documentation.
The documentation is organized into collections of topics in the online bookshelf, for example, Sybase WorkSpace Development, Sybase WorkSpace Server Administration, and Sybase PowerDesigner.
The source collection of a help topic is identified in the topic title bar.
Each collection has a Glossary specific to the collection.
The online help system has a text search capability that lets you find information by keyword.
Breadcrumbs displayed at the top of each topic enable you to see where the topic you are viewing is located in the collection hierarchy.
Online help opens in a browser and you can choose to use the embedded browser or an installed external Web browser.
Cheat sheets are a form of help that show you how to perform a task or, in some cases, perform some of the task for you.
Accessing help
There are several ways to access help in Sybase WorkSpace.
Select Help|Help Contents from the main menu bar.
This opens the online help system bookshelf. From the bookshelf, you can browse through the contents pane or use the search capability to locate the help topic you need.
Click
, which is found on editor pages and in cheat sheets.This opens the most relevant help topic for the editor page or step of the cheat sheet.
Press F1 in an active editor or view.
This opens a popup box that contains a link or list of links of topics that are relevant to the editor or view.
Select Help|Cheat Sheets from the main menu bar.
This opens a dialog that contains a list of cheat sheets. Select the cheat sheet that will guide you through the task that you want to perform.
Select a tutorial from Sybase WorkSpace Welcome pages.
This opens a list of tutorials with a brief introduction to each tutorial. The Tutorial link on Welcome pages open the online bookshelf, where you select the tutorial that you want to see.
Select Search|Search from the main menu bar.
This opens the Search dialog. Select the Help Search tab and define the search. The Search view opens displaying a list of topic links that match your search criteria. Double-click a link to open the topic.
If you locate a topic through a search or by using F1 and you would like to see where the topic fits in the collection,
click Show in Table of Contents
to synchronize the navigator with the current topic.
