Database Development Views

The following tables describe the default, Fast View, and optional views available in the Database Development perspective.

Default Views

ViewDescription

Database Explorer

A tree view of database connection profiles and utilities. You can use Database Explorer to view and edit database resources, and execute and debug procedural objects. You can also create a database service directly from this view.

Multiple databases are grouped under each Adaptive Server Enterprise server.

Enterprise Explorer

A list of application components from Application Servers, Monitor Servers, Service Containers, UDDI Registries, Message Transports, and Databases. You can create connections to outside components in this view.

SQL Results

A display of SQL results. In SQL Results you can view the result sets, history results, run status, and database server messages. You can also save or export result sets or results history into different file formats.

WorkSpace Navigator

A list, grouped by project, of resources available in your workspace, such as SQL files, XML files, results files, as well as servers. You can set the WorkSpace Navigator view type from the WorkSpace Navigator toolbar menu.

Fast Views

A limited list of names and values for the selected resource. Resource properties can be added and edited from this view.

Service Explorer

A list of services and their component parts. You can also do any of the following:

  • Browse all available public and private services
