Deploying the package involves creating the packages for each target server using the custom configuration specified when creating the deployment profile and then deploying the package to the corresponding target servers. After you develop a Sybase services package profile or an EAServer 5.x services package profile, you can use the service package profile to deploy the physical package.
You can use a deployment profile to perform simultaneous deployment of multiple packages and deployment to multiple target servers as a single action.
You can deploy a package immediately after using the wizard if all required service definitions included in this initial package are complete. In this case, the package is generated using defaults and you do not use the editor to further develop the package profile. The generated package profile uses these defaults:
Public access using the SOAP protocol over an HTTP transport for all services explicitly added to the package. Dependent services are automatically included but are not publicly accessible.
All service interfaces and operations defined as visible for the included public services are exposed.
Logging level set as critical.
The custom configuration that you specified on the Configuration page of the editor is used to deploy the package.
Prerequisites:
To use the service package profile to deploy a physical package:
In WorkSpace Navigator, select the services package profile to use to create the package.
Right-click the services package profile and select Deploy Package.
The Select Target Server dialog displays a list of servers that are available to host the package, based on the type of package you have selected.
Select a target server from the list in the dialog.
Click OK. All services in the deployment definition are executed.
The package is generated and immediately deployed to the server.
A summary dialog message box, which indicates the status of all packages, displays when the deployment is finished. Failed deployments and errors are listed. Deployment errors and warnings provides additional information.
