The deployment process performs the extraction, translation, and storage of completed and packaged design-time processes to the runtime environment. The deployment process involves delivering a new or updated package to a runtime instance and then deploying the configured package to a runtime instance, which generates the metadata and stores the configuration information required during runtime.
You can execute a deployment one of two ways:
Deploy from a Deployment Profile.
This is the preferred method. It allows you to re-execute the package or to execute the package with modifications.
Deploy by right-clicking on a package.
This method is quicker but has limitations, including no persistence.
