Run the application on the desktop

Note

Now you run the application on the desktop to see how it works. By running the application, you can see the window and menus that were created for you when PocketBuilder generated the application based on your choices.

  1. Click the Run button in the PowerBar.

    The window displays.

    Run button on the toolbarThe main application window displays at runtime. It has File and Help menus and an O K button control.

  2. Click the OK button.

    Hello World displays in the window.

    The main window shows a static text control with the words "Hello World". The only other control on the window is the O K button that you clicked to display the static text.

  3. In Hello World, select File>Exit.

    The application closes and you return to the PocketBuilder development environment.

    When you exit and restart PocketBuilder, you might want to have PocketBuilder in the state it was in when you exited, with the workspace and painters you were working in open.
