Eclipse-based Repository Exploring

Eclipse provides a Concurrent Versions System (CVS) team programming environment where team members complete work using a Workbench, the private work area of each developer, and then share this work to the CVS repository.

The following are required for collaborative team development:

  • Software Configuration management (SCM) that manages the source code

  • Tools that work with the SCM system

  • Development tool integration

  • Change request management

  • Messaging and event notification

  • Shared task and calendar

  • Shared delivery system

The Workbench User Guide contains a Team CVS tutorial that will help you decide if you want to use collaborative development with your team. You can download the CVS server from http://www.march-hare.com/cvspro/.
