Samples

Sybase WorkSpace includes sample applications as fully-developed, working applications to demonstrate the features and capabilities of Sybase WorkSpace. Two types of samples are delivered for Sybase WorkSpace:

Sybase WorkSpace also provides the end-to-end SybStore and component-based tutorials that show you how to use Sybase WorkSpace tools to create basic parts of a service-oriented application. See Tutorials.

SybStore Sample

The end-to-end SybStore sample demonstrates:

  • Implementation of business process models to define business logic and generate business process services

  • Implementation of a database model to define schema objects

  • Implementation of an XML model to define service input and output message definitions

  • Use of database services to call stored procedures in a database

  • Use of java services to define custom logic in Java and create a composite service that calls other services

  • Use of transformation services to define data transformation from one format to another

  • Use of message services to send e-mail

  • Use of business process services to implement process logic

  • Implementation of a Web application with multiple pages providing inventory, order, items, restock request, and outstanding order inquiry information

  • Construction of mobile applications to extend services to mobile devices and of a portal that allows simple inquiries from mobile devices.

The SybStore sample application is particularly useful when you are working through the tutorials. You can refer to the sample to explore the application component you create or manipulate in the tutorial, or to compare your results with the sample.
