Chapter 10 Building Data Transformation Diagrams
Data transformation diagram objects
You create the following objects in a data transformation diagram:
- Data input — represents the location from where data is extracted, such as a database or an XML document. It also defines the type of the extracted data using data structure columns. See Data Inputs (ILM).
- Action — specifies how the data is transformed using, for example, data query executions or data aggregations. It also defines the type of the transformed data using data structure columns. See Actions (ILM).
- Data output — represents the location to where data is loaded, such as a database or an XML document. It also defines the type of the loaded data using data structure columns. See Data Outputs (ILM).
