Chapter 13 Impact analysis

Changing the default collections of an object

By default, the Dependencies page displays some collections for each object. You can add or remove the collections of a selected object using the Object Propagation Collection dialog box.

If you want to globally modify object collections you have to use the Propagation Rules Definition dialog box and modify collections for a selected metaclass.

For more information on the Propagation Rules Definition dialog box, see the "Using the Propagation Rules Definition dialog box" section.

In the Object Propagation Collection dialog box, you can see the name and type of the collection (direct collection, inverse collection called dependency, extended collection and calculated collection).

You can modify the following options:

Option Description
S (Selected) When selected, displays the corresponding collection under the object category in the Dependencies page
L (Replace link object by extremity) If the current object is a link, hides the link in the propagation tree in order to simplify the display and visualize only link extremity
R (Recursive) Allows you to display recursive collections in a single list

Steps To change the default collections of an object:

  1. Right-click an object node in the tree in the Dependencies page.
  2. Select Change Propagation Collections.

The Object Propagation Collections dialog box is displayed.
  3. Select or deselect collections.
  4. Click OK.

The collections appear under the selected object category in the tree.
