Managing the dependencies tree view

Chapter 13 Impact analysis

You can use the following tools in the Dependencies page of the Impact Analysis dialog box:

Tool	Description
	Opens the property sheet of the selected item in the dependencies tree
	Opens an object selection dialog box to let you add objects to the current tree. Objects proceed from models of the same type as the currently selected model
	Opens the Propagation Rule Definition dialog box to let you customize default propagation rules and define new propagation rules
	Recalculates the dependencies of a selected node using the propagation rules. You can add and/or remove collections, you can also remove child objects from a selected node, if you want to cancel these changes and restore the tree view, you can use the Reset tool. Note that the Reset tool only applies to the selected node, if you want to update the entire tree of a root object, you need to select the root object and click the Reset tool
	When the current model contains generation and/or shortcut links to other models consolidated in the repository, this tool lets you extract these dependencies

You can also use contextual menus to manage items in the dependencies tree. The following commands are available:

Change Propagation Collection to access the Object Propagation Collection dialog box, see section Changing the default collections of an object
Change Event Description to access the Event Description dialog box, see section Customizing events
Change the type of event (Delete or Change)
Go to First Occurrence, available on a disabled item in the Dependencies tree, used to access the first impact analysis of an object that is impacted several times by a change.
Go to Next Occurrence allows you to see all the impacts on the same object a change can cause.
Delete the selected object
Reset to redisplay the dependencies tree
Find the selected object in the Browser
Open model when the model is closed in the workspace
Display the property sheet of the selected object
