Chapter 6 Extracting documents

Adding related documents

Related documents are versions of PowerDesigner models linked with shortcuts or generation links to the currently selected version of a model.

You can extract a model version with its related model versions in order to create the global environment for this document on your local machine.

When you extract a list of PowerDesigner related models, the extraction order is the following:

• The target models are extracted first, these models contain objects used to create a shortcut
• The source models are extracted after

To add related documents:

1. Select Repository→Extract.
   
   The Extract Multiple Documents dialog box appears.
2. Select the Add Document tool.
   
   The Extract Document dialog box appears.
3. Select a document name and version in the corresponding boxes.
4. Select the different extraction options.
5. Click OK in the Extract Document dialog box.
   
   The document appears in the list of documents to extract.
6. Click the Add Related Document tool.
   
   
   The related document versions are added to the list of documents to extract.
