Chapter 5 Managing Repository Documents

Auditing repository activities

Auditing repository activities consists in capturing the operations performed on documents stored in the repository by the different users allowed to connect.

What are activities?

Activities are actions that actually modify repository documents. You modify documents when you consolidate, freeze, or delete them.

Activities are reported under the form of entries in a list of activities. Entries are informational, they are designed to answer questions like "which documents were modified during which period of time" or "how often document A is modified per day". Entries allow the data administrator to monitor repository activity over documents. It makes it possible to audit operations performed on repository documents, analyze user behavior patterns, and highlight activity sequences.
