Chapter 5 Managing Repository Documents
You can grant access permissions to a user or a group on the following objects:
You cannot grant permissions on PowerDesigner model objects or diagrams.
The following table lists the different permissions you can define on repository objects, from the more restrictive to the more extensive:
Access Permission | Description |
---|---|
List | User or group can view folders and documents in the browser; display read-only property sheets and find models. Folders or documents without any permissions cannot be seen in the browser. A document in a folder or at the root of the repository is visible only if the folder or the root have at least a Read permission |
Read | User or group can view folders and documents in the browser, find objects, display read-only property sheet, compare documents, and extract from the repository |
Write | User or group can view folders and documents in the browser, find objects, display read-only property sheet, compare, extract, consolidate, freeze and lock document versions in the repository |
Full | User or group can manage permissions granted to users or groups and remove locks on documents |
When you consolidate documents in the repository you need the following permissions on the target folder:
Consolidation | Permission required |
---|---|
First consolidation: you create the document in the repository | Write on the target folder or the root folder (if you do not consolidate in a folder) |
Update: you update an existing document in the repository | Read on the target folder or the root folder (if you do not consolidate in a folder) |
