Set miscellaneous preferences to specify logging levels for testing a message definition in the Test Message tab of the Message Definition Editor.
To set miscellaneous Message Designer preferences:
Select Window|Preferences from the main menu bar.
Expand Message Designer and select Miscellaneous.
The Miscellaneous preferences screen appears in the right pane.

Field | Explanation | |
---|---|---|
Log Levels | There are seven log levels. Each level encompasses all levels above it. That is, The CONFIG level includes all messages from the SEVERE, WARNING, and INFO levels. | |
OFF | OFF turns off logging. | |
SEVERE | SEVERE logs messages indicating a serious failure. | |
WARNING | WARNING logs messages indicating a potential problem. | |
INFO | INFO logs informational messages. | |
CONFIG | CONFIG logs static configuration messages. | |
DEBUG | DEBUG logs highly detailed tracing and diagnostic messages. | |
ALL | ALL indicates that all messages should be logged. | |
Use Performance Logging | Select or clear the Use Performance Logging check box. Your selection determines the initial setting of the Test Performance check box, found in the Test Message tab of the Message Definition Editor. |
Click OK.
