Before you develop a Web application:
Sybase WorkSpace supports EAServer, Apache Tomcat, Adaptive Server Anywhere (ASA), and Adaptive Server Enterprise (ASE).
If you plan to deploy and debug a Web application, start either EAServer or Apache Tomcat, or start both servers.
You must debug the Web application on the Apache Tomcat server or EAServer to execute breakpoints. Tomcat supports both managed bean and Web page breakpoints. EAServer supports managed bean breakpoints.
You can choose to wait and start servers inside Sybase WorkSpace when you are ready to debug or deploy the Web application.
If you plan to develop a Web application that uses DataWindows, start either the Adaptive Server Anywhere (ASA) or Adaptive Server Enterprise (ASE) server, or start both servers.
(Optional) Create connection profiles.
Create and configure a new connection profile using the Enterprise Explorer, or use any of the fully-configured default connection profiles provided by Sybase WorkSpace. You can also create a new or use an existing connection profile when you are using wizards to develop your Web application. For example, you can create or select to use an existing database connection profile when creating a DataWindow library using the New DataWindow Library File wizard.
(Optional) Set Web application development preferences.
