Starting Sybase Developer Edition Servers

You can start the Developer Edition servers from the following locations:

Windows Start menu
Command line

The available servers are dependent on your installation type.

For supported servers not installed with Sybase WorkSpace, such as Sybase IQ 12.6, see your server's SyBooks CD or SyBooks Online for product documentation, including instructions on starting the server.

If you installed Sybase WorkSpace and the Sybase Developer Edition Servers on the same machine, you can also start the Sybase Developer Edition Servers using the External Tools feature in the main menu bar.

To start the servers from the Windows Start menu:

EAServer 5.3	Select Start\|Programs\|Sybase\|Sybase WorkSpace\|EAServer 5.3\|Start EAServer (JDK 1.4)	Start EAServer developer edition server and verify that the Unwired Orchestrator developer edition server is already running. You can also start EAServer in Debug mode.
Unwired Accelerator 8.0 (Tomcat)	Select Start\|Programs\|Sybase\|Sybase WorkSpace\|UA 8.0\|Start UA (Tomcat) Unwired Accelerator (Tomcat) is the default.	Start the Unwired Accelerator developer edition server running on Apache Tomcat. This is the default server.
Unwired Orchestrator 5.1	Select Start\|Programs\|Sybase\|Sybase WorkSpace\|UO 5.1\|Start UO	Start the Unwired Orchestrator developer edition server.

To start the servers from the command line:

Run the Start script. Choose from the following types of product installations:

EAServer 5.3	`<installation directory>\WorkSpace\DevRuntimes\EAServer\bin\serverstart.bat`	Start EAServer developer edition server and verify that the Unwired Orchestrator developer edition server is already running.
Unwired Accelerator 8.0 (Tomcat)	`<installation directory>\WorkSpace\DevRuntimes\UA\tomcat\startua.bat`	Start the Unwired Accelerator developer edition server running on Apache Tomcat. This is the default server.
Unwired Orchestrator 5.1	`<installation directory>\WorkSpace\DevRuntimes\UO\bin\or51rtimeEAS_start.cmd`	Start the Unwired Orchestrator developer edition server.

Stopping Sybase Developer Edition Servers
