A custom wire format message is modeled as a message definition in Sybase WorkSpace. A message definition contains a sequence of containers and fields that define each data element in a custom wire format message. Each container and field has properties that you set to specify the characteristics of the data element it represents.
At design-time, a message definition generates a set of objects that can be packaged, including an XSD, parser, and serializer. The objects can be used by other components, such as a transformation service, to parse and serialize custom wire format messages.
