After creating a Message Designer project, creating a message definition, and setting up the message defaults for the message definition, edit the structure of the message definition. A message definition is essentially a node model of the wire format it represents. You edit a message definition by visually constructing a hierarchy composed of any number of containers and fields.
In the WorkSpace Navigator view, expand your Message Designer project or Sybase Project and navigate to MessageDesigns|MessageDefinitions.
Double-click your message definition.
In the Message Definition tab, Use the following basic operations in any combination to construct your message definition:
To move a field into a container, drag the field onto the container.
To move a field to another location in the tree, drag the field between nodes. A horizontal line will appear, marking the new location.
If renaming the message definition, make sure the new name is 64 characters or less. For more information, see Troubleshooting Message Definition Objects.
