Viewing an Unwired Orchestrator Log File in WorkSpace

The Log View component of the Profiling and Logging perspective enables you to examine individual message components and, using log filters, to view selected portions of a log file.

Note

Before you can view an Unwired Orchestrator log file in the Log View , you must first import the file into Sybase WorkSpace.

Viewing individual message components

To view individual message components, use the following procedure:

  1. In the Log Records pane of the Log View, select a message and expand the tree view beneath it by clicking on the elements preceded by a plus sign. Each tree node represents a page of the log file.

  2. In the Log Records pane, highlight a leaf node in the tree for the selected message. Properties information should display for this log event in the Property pane.

  3. Highlight a property in the Property pane. Detailed information for this property should display in the Details pane.

  4. To skip to a specific page in the log file, click the Go to Page Go to Page Icon icon in the Log View toolbar, enter the number of the page you want to view, and click OK.

Using log filters

To view selected portions of a log file with log filters, use the following procedure:

  1. Create a new log file filter. The Log View should now display only messages that conform to the conditions specified in your log file filter.

  2. To view the details for a message, expand the messages tree view and observe properties and details in the respective Property and Details panes.

You can turn off the filter for a log file by clicking the Manage Filters dropdown Manage Filters Dropdown from the Log View toolbar and choosing No Filter from the menu.
