Working with a UDDI Registry

Sybase Workspace includes integrated support for interacting with UDDI servers directly from the Enterprise Explorer, letting you search for Web services on any compatible UDDI registry. To set up a connection to a UDDI registry in your project, you must create a UDDI Registry connection profile with the correct connection information. Sybase WorkSpace includes preconfigured UDDI registry connection profile templates for many common publicly accessible UDDI registries, such as the SAP UDDI Registry.

A UDDI Registry connection profile lets you perform complex searches of UDDI registries by name, UUID code, or geographic region. You can perform any search operations by right-clicking the UDDI Registry connection profile icon in the Enterprise Explorer. After you look up a service, you can drag and drop its WSDL document into your project folder and use the WSDL document to create a basic SOAP service.

To share services within your Sybase WorkSpace development group, you can set up EAServer to host your own internal UDDI server, usually private.
