Use the Layout page to add branches and content to the mobile catalog. When you create a new mobile catalog using the New Mobile Catalog wizard, the catalog tree shows only the new catalog. The detail view beneath the catalog is empty because no applications or branches have been created for the new mobile catalog.
Once you add branches and applications to the mobile catalog, use the Layout page to edit, remove, preview, and arrange branches and applications. The mobile application list displays the applications that are assigned to a branch. You can perform the following actions on branches and applications by clicking the corresponding button:
| Action | Description |
| Add | Add mobile applications to catalog branches. See Adding Branches and Applications to Mobile Catalogs. NoteIf you add mobile applications without having first created a branch, a branch is automatically created under the mobile catalog after you click OK in the Mobile Application Search dialog. |
| Open | Displays only when you select a mobile application. Click to open the mobile application editor for the selected mobile application. |
| Edit | Displays only when you select a branch. Click Edit to open the Branch Information dialog to change the information for the branch. |
| Remove | Remove branches and applications from mobile catalogs. When you remove a branch from the catalog, all of the applications that belong to the branch are removed as well. NoteThere is no confirmation dialog, so be sure you really want to remove the branch or application before you click Remove. |
| Preview | Preview the mobile application. This button is only for mobile applications. You cannot preview catalogs and branches. |
You can perform these actions on catalogs, branches, and mobile applications by selecting and right-clicking the corresponding object:

Catalog Branch | Expand All | Expand all of the child objects. |
Catalog Branch | Collapse All | Collapse (hide) all of the child objects. |
| Mobile Application | Validate Mobile Application | Validate the XML schema of the mobile application. |
| Mobile Application | View Mobile Application XML | View the XML schema of the mobile application. |
