Adding Branches and Applications to Mobile Catalogs

Use the mobile catalog editor to add branches and applications to mobile catalogs.

Branches are used to organize applications within a catalog. As you create new branches, keep these rules in mind:

To add a branch:

  1. Add branches to mobile catalogs using the mobile catalog editor. You can access the mobile catalog editor in these ways:

    • To edit an existing mobile catalog, double-click the mobile catalog you want to edit, or right-click on the catalog and select Open.

    • When you use the New Mobile Catalog wizard to create a new catalog, the mobile catalog editor opens after you click Finish in the wizard.

  2. In the Layout page of the mobile catalog editor, right-click the catalog to which you want to add a branch, and select New|Branch. Click Next.

  3. In the Branch Information dialog, provide the following information:

    • Name – enter a name for the mobile catalog.

    • Active – select this check box to make the mobile catalog active.

    • Description – enter a description for the mobile catalog.

    • Notes – enter notes for the mobile catalog.

    Click OK.

  4. Now you can add mobile applications to the branch.

To add applications to branches:

Mobile applications can be added only to branches of a catalog. If you add mobile applications without having first created a branch, a branch is automatically created under the catalog. Only mobile applications that are approved and marked as active can be added to a catalog.

  1. Right-click the branch to which you want to add mobile applications and select Add|Mobile Applications.

  2. Use the Mobile Application Search dialog to add mobile applications. See Using Mobile Application Search. Click OK.
