Working with MobiLink

MobiLink is a relational database synchronization engine which helps you to synchronize data contained in a consolidated database with one or more remote databases. PowerDesigner supports modeling for MobiLink version 9.0 and higher, including round-trip engineering.

Synchronization begins when a MobiLink remote site opens a connection to a MobiLink server. The MobiLink client at the remote site uploads changes made to the remote database since the previous synchronization. On receiving this data, the MobiLink server updates the consolidated database, and then downloads changes from the consolidated database to the remote database.

The following example shows an information liquidity diagram representing a synchronization of data from a consolidated database through the MobiLink synchronization server to three remote databases, each of which are modeled in Physical Data Models (PDMs):
