This section describes how to update from Unwired Accelerator 6.5 to 7.0 when running in the Tomcat application server.
Pre upgrade tasks
Before beginning the upgrade, you must perform some pre-upgrade tasks.
Back up your UA 6.5 installation. The upgrade process does not preserve the UA 6.5 installation, and if you uninstall Unwired Accelerator 7.0 after performing the upgrade everything is uninstalled including anything from your UA 6.5 installation.
Shut down Tomcat. See “Starting and stopping the Tomcat application server”.
Navigate to your UA 6.5 installation directory and start the ASA database by entering:
startdb.bat
Upgrading UA 6.5 to 7.0 (Tomcat)
Insert the Unwired Accelerator installation CD into your CD drive.
Perform an installation as described in “Installing Unwired Accelerator”.
You must use the same domain name, host name, database
port, HTTP port, and HTTPS port as you configured for your 6.5 installation.
Select your existing UA installation directory as the installation directory. The Installer notifies you that you are performing an upgrade. During the upgrade, the Installer:
Overwrites necessary files
Retains the database files unchanged
Updates the global.properties.xml file where necessary
Select Start | Programs | Sybase | UnwiredAccelerator | Start UnwiredAccelerator to restart the Tomcat server and the Adaptive Server Anywhere database.
Log in to Unwired Accelerator as described in “Getting started with Mobile Web Studio”.
