Troubleshooting the Unwired Accelerator setup

Cannot start ASA database:

Connection error: Unable to initialize requested communication links

If you receive this error when trying to start the ASA database using startdb, check the global.properties.xml and server.xml files to make sure you changed the ASA port number to the correct value. The default is 4747.

Cannot start the Portal Interface:

File Not Found 404 error

If you receive this error when trying to start Portal Interface, make sure you:

• Ran config to change localhost to your machine name (such as lab2k) and to set other values as described in “Installation tasks”.

• Changed the machine name and domain name for your network as described in “Installation tasks”.

• Entered the URL correctly to access Portal Interface as described in “Verifying the installation”.

• Are using the correct port number; for example, 4040 when running in Tomcat.

Cannot start Mobile Web Studio

If you cannot start Mobile Web Studio, verify that you are using:

• Internet Explorer and not Netscape.

• The correct version of Internet Explorer as described in Table 2-1.

• The correct port number, for example, 4040 when running in Tomcat.

Mobile Web Studio window does not display

If the Mobile Web Studio window does not display, but the browser window with the Close button does display, after entering the following in the Web browser:

http://hostname.domain:port/onepage/index.html

you may have pop-ups disabled in the Web browser. The Mobile Web Studio application requires pop-ups.

You can either:

• Enable pop-ups in your Web browser.

• Alternatively, if you do not wish to enable pop-ups, you can access Mobile Web Studio by entering the following in the Web browser:
