The directory contains information used across multiple projects to perform a variety of activities. Users interact with the directory through special-purpose browsers built into the Unwired Orchestrator tooling.
To start the directory if it shuts down:
Navigate to your directory (server install dir>\asa).
Do one of the following:
For Windows, run startIO43DirSvs_asa.bat.
For Unix, run startIODirSvs_asa.sh.
To stop the directory to change the directory name or port:
Edit agent.properties by substituting new information for the name and port so the agent will use the new name or new port.
Restart Unwired Orchestrator.
To change your preferences to point to another directory:
Before you can connect to another directory containing services on another machine or port number, you must change your preferences. You must shut down and restart Unwired Orchestrator before you can connect to a new directory.
Go to Windows>Preferences to change your Directory Services connection.
Select Unwired Orchestrator.
Select UDDI Registry.
In the JDBC URL, substitute your machine name or IP address for local host and substitute your port for the default port number. See Port Number Reference to verify that no port conflicts will occur.
Click OK.
Restart Unwired Orchestrator to connect to the new directory services.
You cannot use localhost to connect to a remote directory. You will have to edit the start script for the directory and agent.properties for the agent.
The directory contains the endpoint connection configurations in the Endpoint Manager and the services in the Service Library. If you connect to a different directory, you will see a different set of endpoint connections and shared services. You can export endpoint connection configurations from one directory and import them into another. An XML file is created at export time. You can import this XML file after connecting to another directory.
