Configuring Endpoint Connections for Messaging Services

Use the New Endpoint Wizard to configure messaging endpoint connections:

  1. Right-click the Messaging folder in the Endpoint Manager.

  2. Select Add Endpoint.

  3. Select the type of endpoint to add. You can add the following endpoint connections. The following links provide access to tables that identify configuration parameters (key names, a short description, and the possible values) used in the Endpoint Wizard for each type of transport mechanism.

Note: You must configure the session before you can configure a transport.

File session and transport

JMS session and transport

WebSphere MQ session and transport

Rendevous Certified session and transport

Rendevous Reliable session and transport

MSMQ session and transport

QAnywhere session and transport

The wizard directs you through the configuration of a new endpoint connection. The GUI for all three messaging types asks you to enter a transport-specific queue. For the File transport, enter a transport-specific file.

The messaging endpoint is created and uses the defined properties. These properties can be edited from the Endpoint Manager.

Notes: The monitoring transport must be the same as the transport the external monitoring system uses to get data.

For WebSphere MQ, correct designation of the Queue Manager is critical.

See editing, removing, and renaming an endpoint in Endpoint Manager Administrative Tasks.
