In Chapter 7, “Security,” the documentation should be updated:
On pages 127–128, for the “Unwired Accelerator access” topic, the bullet starting with “All the HTTP traffic is encrypted as described above...” requires modification. This statement is true only if your BlackBerry is paired with a BES server.
If your BlackBerry is not paired, HTTP traffic is sent as clear text across the wireless network and whatever other transports it needs, to reach the UA server.
On page 128, for the “Data security” topic, the information in the bullets pertains only to BES-paired BlackBerry devices. If you do not use BES in your configuration, mobile devices users should use HTTPS in their profiles to ensure security.
