Chapter 10 Working with Replication Server
A RepServer function string belongs to a Replication server (see RepServer Servers) when no RepServer replication definition is specified and to a RepServer replication definition (see RepServer Replication Definitions) when one is specified. The RepServer function string is a template used by the Replication server to construct the commands it submits to a database. At runtime, variables in the function string are replaced with values from the function. A function is a name associated with a data server operation which can manipulate data (for example, rs_insert inserts a row in a table), and control transactions (for example rs_begin initiates a transaction).
PowerDesigner models RepServer function strings as standard event scripts with additional properties. For information about creating and working with event scripts, see "Event Scripts " in the "Building Information Liquidity Diagrams" chapter.
