Specifying framework matrix cell actions

Actions control the types of documents that can be attached to a cell when completing a framework matrix. You can specify one or more action types per cell.

To specify a framework matrix cell action:

1. Double-click a cell in the framework matrix to open its property sheet.
2. On the General tab, enter a cell name, and any other appropriate properties (See Framework matrix cell and additional area properties).
3. Click the Actions tab, and click the Add a Row tool to create a new action.
4. Double-click the action to open its property sheet.
5. On the General tab, enter an action name, and any other appropriate properties (see Framework matrix action properties).
6. Click the Detail tab, and select one of the following types:
   
   
   • Model – a PowerDesigner model (see Example: Specifying a Model action).
   • Diagram – a PowerDesigner model diagram (see Example: Specifying a Diagram action).
   • List – a list of PowerDesigner model objects (see Example: Specifying a List action).
   • Generation –a PowerDesigner model generated from another model (see Example: Specifying a Generation action).
   • File – an external file (see Example: Specifying a File action).
   • Dependency matrix – a PowerDesigner matrix showing links between model objects (see Example: Specifying a Matrix action).
7. Specify any other appropriate properties to refine the action (see Framework matrix action property sheet Detail tab).
   
8. Click OK to close the action and cell property sheets and return to the framework matrix.
   
   The action is now available for use by framework matrix users (see Attaching a document to a framework matrix cell). Note that only fully-defined actions are available for selection.
