Process hierarchy diagram

A process hierarchy diagram (or Functional Decomposition Diagram—FDD) is an optional diagram that allows you to identify the high-level functions of a system in a structured manner.

In the following example the top-level process Orders is decomposed into two sub-processes, Electronic Orders and Standard Orders, which is in turn decomposed. Each of these processes can be analyzed in its own business process diagram.
