Auditing Repository Activities

Users with the Manage All Documents right can audit repository use through the List of Activities. Activities are actions that modify repository documents, such as consolidation, freezing, and deleting.

The list makes it possible to audit operations performed on repository documents, analyze user behavior patterns, and highlight activity sequences.

Steps To consult the list of activities:

  1. Press Ctrl+Alt+V or select Repository →Activities to open the List of Activities.

Select an item in the list and click the Properties tool to open the property sheet of the affected object. If necessary, you can use the Versions tab of the property sheet to extract or lock the document version.

The list displays all the operations that modified the documents stored in the repository, this list does not show object changes. You can customize the list by clicking the Customize Columns and Filter tool. The following information can be useful if you want to consult repository activities:

Column Description
Activity type Specifies the type of action performed on the document, such as consolidation, freeze or delete. Note that actions, such as lock or unlock, that do not modify the document are not reported in the list of activities.
Name The name of the item which should be clear and meaningful, and should convey the item's purpose to non-technical users
Code The technical name of the item used for generating code or scripts, which may be abbreviated, and should not generally include spaces
Location Folder in which the document is stored
Version Document version number
Comment Activity comment
Activity Date Date when operation was performed
User Login of the user who performed operation
