Chapter 3 Basic Repository Tasks

Consolidating Changes to Documents Stored in the Repository

To consolidate changes to a document stored in the repository, you must have Write or Full permission on the document or (for a PowerDesigner model) on one of its packages (see Consolidating PowerDesigner packages).

Steps To consolidate changes to a single document:

  1. Right-click the document in the Local Browser and select Consolidate from the contextual menu to open the Consolidate Document window. The Update mode is selected automatically.
  2. Select the appropriate options (see Using the Consolidate Document window), and click OK to consolidate your changes with the version of the document held in the repository.

Steps To consolidate changes to multiple documents:

  1. Right-click the workspace root or a folder containing multiple documents, or Ctrl-select multiple documents in the Local Browser and select Consolidate in the contextual menu to open the Consolidate Multiple Documents window.

You can add or remove documents in the list using the tools provided (see Using the Consolidate Multiple Documents Window).
  2. Click OK to consolidate your changes with the versions of the documents held in the repository.

Note   Changing the resource file
If you change the DBMS or target language of a model that is in the repository (other than to another target within the same family, such as moving from ASIQ 12.6 to 12.7), you will no longer be able to consolidate future changes.
