Business Process (ILM)

A business process represents a file containing data under a specific format. A Business Process Model (BPM) describes this file format. A business process provides access to the BPM and is used to show dependencies between a BPM and other models

A business process belongs to a package and has the following symbol in the diagram:

A business process:

• Can be linked to CDM, OOM, PDM or XSM models using dependency links
• Can be linked to another BPM using a generation link
• Can be associated with a BPM in order to describe data
• Cannot be linked to a data access link
• Can be linked to a transformation process using a data connection. The business process becomes a data input in the design of data transformations.
