Chapter 3 Building Information Liquidity Diagrams

Database property sheet Physical Data Models tab

In the Physical Data Models tab, you can define with which physical data models (PDM) the database is associated. This association allows you to describe the content of the PDM. The PDM is a schema of the database. You can also delete associations you no longer want.

You must have at least one PDM opened in the workspace to create associations.

Note   Opening the Physical Data Models tab
You can open the PDM Models tab by right-clicking the Database symbol in the diagram, and selecting Physical Data Models.

Steps To associate a PDM with a database in an ILM:

  1. Open a database property sheet and click the Physical Data Models tab .
  2. Click the Add Physical Data Models tool in the toolbar to open a selection list, select one or more PDMs and click OK.

The selected PDMs are displayed in the Physical Data Models tab. You can select a PDM and click the Open Model tool in the toolbar to open the associated PDM.
  3. Click OK to close the property sheet and return to the model diagram.

Note   Open Model contextual menu
You can directly open a PDM associated with a database by right-clicking a database symbol in the diagram and select the Open Model command. If several models are associated with the database, a selection dialog box is displayed. Select a PDM and click OK.
