Transformation Processes

A transformation process is a high level process in the Information Liquidity Diagram, which lets you design:

Data Transformation Tasks, which define the content of transformations using a Data Transformation diagram. These tasks identifies where data is extracted, and how it is transformed and loaded in a destination.
Transformation Control Flows, which define the organization of transformation tasks using a Transformation Control Flow diagram.

The transformation process defines the sequence required to execute them.

A transformation process has the following symbol in the diagram:

You use a data connection to link a transformation process to:

A database
An XML document
A business process
A flat file

The data connection specifies the way data are moved for transformation according to its access type, which can be: read-only, write-only or read-write.

Navigating to a diagram from the transformation process symbol
To navigate to a Data Transformation diagram or to a Transformation Control Flow diagram from the transformation process, you can press ctrl and double-click the transformation process symbol. A selection dialog box displays when several diagrams are available.
