You create an high level transformation diagram (using the Information Liquidity Diagram) to define the high-level view of data transformation, which includes:
If you did not use the reverse engineer feature, you have to associate a model to each one of the data stores in order to establish a connection with the associated model. This connection is used by data inputs in the data transformation diagram.
The flat file is usually a .csv or .xls file containing columns. You create columns using the Columns tab in the flat file property sheet.
