When you create an assign activity with the "Assign" implementation type, this triggers the display of the Assignments tab:

Get process ID: Source property is not mandatory, if empty, the following is generated by default: /PRC_SYS/PROCESS_ID.
The Source property of the assign activity depends on the Action type of the assign activity. On the opposite, the Target context reference property always references a context variable that constitutes a container for an assigned value.

Change to Assign command
You can also easily create an assign activity using the Change to Assign command from the contextual menu of a process object.
