Creating a configuration

Users with the Manage Configurations right can create configurations in the repository. Usually, the user allowed to create configurations in a project is the team leader.

When you create a configuration, you have to define the following properties:

Property Description
Name The name of the item which should be clear and meaningful, and should convey the item's purpose to non-technical users
Code The technical name of the item used for generating code or scripts, which may be abbreviated, and should not generally include spaces
Comment Additional information about the configuration

Steps To create a configuration:

  1. Select Repository→Configurations to display the List of Configurations dialog box.
  2. Click the Add a Row tool.

    A new configuration is added to the list.
  3. Click Apply.
  4. Click the Properties tool.

    The configuration property sheet is displayed.
  5. Type a name in the Name box.
  6. Type a code in the Code box.
  7. Type a comment in the Comment box.
  8. Click OK in each of the dialog boxes.
