Chapter 9 Managing Document Versions in the Repository
A lock is a temporary protection set on a document version by a user with the Lock Versions right.
You lock a version when you want to prevent other users from updating the version with a consolidation. The user who sets a lock on a version or who has the Full permission on the document is allowed to consolidate this document; if another user tries to consolidate a locked document, a message box is displayed to warn him that the document version is locked.
There are two methods for working with locks:
Locked documents appear with a lock icon in the repository browser:
Lock icon | Description |
---|---|
![]() |
Blue icon if the connected user has set the lock |
![]() |
Red icon if the connected user has not set the lock |
