Understanding installation modes in PowerDesigner

Chapter 2 Installing PowerDesigner

You can choose among the following installation modes:

A standalone mode is the typical install scenario, when the software is installed on each machine. See the "Installing a Trial Version of PowerDesigner", "Installing a Standalone - Local License of PowerDesigner", and "Installing a Standalone - Served or a Floating - Served License of PowerDesigner" sections.
An administrative mode should be used when you want to use PowerDesigner from a network machine. See the "Installing PowerDesigner in Administrative mode" section.
A silent mode should be used when you want to deploy PowerDesigner on a large number of machines and to reuse exactly the same setup options. See the "Installing PowerDesigner in Silent Mode" section.
A maintenance mode should be used when you want to modify your current installation parameters. See the "Using Installation Maintenance" section.
