Defining repository general options

You can define general options for the repository.

The repository general options affect the behavior of the following features:

Repository option Detailed option
Description
Connection Auto-connect Automatically opens the last connected repository when you start a PowerDesigner session
Browser Auto-refresh

Refresh every ...
Automatically refreshes the Browser tree view, every interval defined in the Refresh every box
  Display Name or Code Displays the name or the code of the documents in the repository. This options overrides the model options defined for each model
  Show objects Displays diagrams, object categories and objects in PowerDesigner models
  Display version number Displays the version number of documents and objects in the browser

You can also use the repository general options to define the default values of the Extraction and Consolidation dialog boxes.

Option Detailed option Description
Extraction Merge document Selects by default the Merge document check box in the Extraction dialog box. This option is used to display the merge dialog box to let you merge the extracted document with the corresponding document on your local machine
  Add to workspace Selects by default the Add to workspace check box in the Extraction dialog box. This option is used to add the extracted document to the current workspace
  Extract dependencies Selects by default the Extract dependencies check box in the Extraction dialog box. This option is used to extract the external dependencies in order to display them in the Dependencies page of an object property sheet. Dependencies can be extracted even when the related models are not available
Consolidation Batch update Selects by default the Batch update mode in the consolidation options of the repository. This mode is more automatic and does not display the Merge dialog box by default
  Freeze after consolidation Selects by default the Freeze after consolidation check box in the Consolidation dialog box. This option is used to freeze document versions after any consolidation

Steps To define repository global options:

  1. Select Tools→General Options.

    The Options dialog box opens to the General pages.
  2. Select the Repository node from the Category tree view.

    The Repository page appears.
  3. Select repository options.
  4. Click OK.
