Chapter 7 Consolidating documents in the repository

Defining post consolidation options

You can define post consolidation options on the document version in the repository provided you have the appropriate user right. The options you define only apply to the current document version.

Freeze after consolidation This option lets you freeze the version created in the repository to prevent other users from merging their document version with the consolidated version. This option cancels the default updatable state of a version.

You can set a general option to always freeze versions after consolidation.

For more information on repository general options, see section Defining repository general options in chapter Managing Repository Documents.

Unlock after consolidation This option releases the lock existing on the document version after consolidation. It enables other users to update the newly created version of the document.

Steps To define post consolidation options:

  1. Select Repository→Consolidate.

The Consolidate Multiple Documents dialog box appears, with an empty list.
  2. Click the Add Document tool.

The Consolidate Document dialog box appears with empty fields.
  3. Select a document and consolidation parameters.
  4. Define post consolidation options in the lower part of the Consolidate Document dialog box.
