Chapter 17 Model Graphics

Defining free text format

You can format free text. Free text, text in graphic shapes and text in object description and annotation support RTF format to let you use diverse presentation styles.

The following free text formatting is available using the Format tool in the text input window toolbar or in the RTF editor for Notes toolbar:

RTF support for free text and text in graphic shapes

Free text and text in graphic shapes support two text modes:

You must double-click a text in the diagram to open a text input window, then click the RTF text mode at the bottom part of the window in order to display the RTF toolbar and be able to select the Format tool.

The Plain text mode is the default if the text input window is empty, then the text mode depends on the content of the saved text. You use the Symbol Format dialog box to format free text and text in graphic shapes when the Plain text mode is selected. For more information, see the "Selecting font display preferences" section, and the "Selecting text alignment for free text" section.

Beside, when using the RTF text mode, note that the Font format and the Text Alignment format (except for the Vertical option) are disabled in the Symbol Format dialog box.

You can use the following tools and keyboard shortcuts from the text input window toolbar or from the RTF editor for Notes:

Tool Description Keyboard shortcut
