Chapter 4 Managing Profiles
When you define a stereotype, you have to define the following properties:
Property | Description |
---|---|
Name | Name of the stereotype that will appear in the Stereotype list in the object property sheet. |
Parent | Name of the parent of the current stereotype. You can use the list to select a stereotype defined in the same metaclass or in a parent metaclass. You can use the Properties button to select the parent stereotype in the tree view and display its properties. |
Abstract | The stereotype cannot be applied to metaclass instances, this stereotype does not appear in the stereotype list in the object property sheet, and can only be used as a parent of other child stereotypes. When you select this property, the Use as metaclass check box is not available. |
Use as metaclass | The stereotype becomes a sub-classification for instances of the selected metaclass. All instances having this stereotype will be grouped in a specific list and Browser category. |
Palette Custom Tool | If selected, allows you to associate a tool in a palette to the current stereotype. This option is available for objects supporting symbols, it cannot be used for the stereotype of an attribute for example. |
Comment | Additional information about the stereotype. |
For more information on how to attach a custom tool to a stereotype, see the "Attach a tool to a stereotype" section.
