Defining a RepConnector Connection

After you create a RepConnector profile, define your RepConnection using the New Connection wizard. You can define mulitple connections for a single profile.

To define a RepConnector connection:

  1. Open the New Connection wizard. In the RepConnector Manager view, right-click the profile to which you want to add a connection, and select Add a New Connection from the context menu.

  2. Enter the following information, and click Next:

    Create a New Connection

    FieldDescription

    Connection Name

    Enter a unique and descriptive name.

    Inbound Type

    Select Replication.

    Outbound Type

    Select JMS.

  3. Enter the following information, and click Next:

    General Connection Information

    FieldDescription

    DBEventStream XSD URL

    Accept the default or enter the URL that RepConnector uses to receive database events.

    Log Level

    Select a level of logging. Choose from the following:
    • Fatal: Logs only fatal errors.

    • Error: Logs errors.

    • Warning: Logs warnings and errors.

    • Info: Logs general information, warnings, and errors.

    • Debug: Logs all information.

    Auto Start Connect

    Select this option to start the RepConnector at the time of EAServer startup.

    Customized Plug-in Class

    Select this option to use a user-defined message formatter for a customized plugin class.

  4. Enter the following information, and click Next:

    Replication Server Inbound Information

    FieldDescription

    DSI Name

    Enter the DSI name for Replication Server.

    Note

    This must be the same DSI name specified in the Replication Server interface file.

    DSI Port

    Enter the DSI port for Replication Server.

    Note

    This must be the same DSI port specified in the Replication Server interface file.

    User Name

    Enter the user-defined login name.

    Password

    Enter the user-defined password.

  5. Enter the following information, then click Pingto validate the connection.

    Click Next to continue.

    Replication Server System Database Information

    FieldDescription

    RSSD URL

    Enter the default URL to point to the RSSD.

    User Name

    Enter the user-defined login name.

    Password

    Enter the user-defined password.

    Message Grouping Preference

    Specify whether to group SQL transaction commands in a single XML message or leave as separate XML messages. Choose from the following:

    Individual

    Group

  6. Enter the following information, then click Ping to validate the connection.

    Click Next to continue.

    JMS Information

    FieldDescription

    Destination Type

    Choose Queue, not Topic.

    JMS Provider URL

    Accept the default or edit as necessary.

    Initial Naming Context Factory

    Accept the default.

    Connection Factory

    Accept the default.

    Destination Name

    Enter REPCONN_OUTPUT_QUEUE to use the preconfigured queue or enter another target queue name.

    User Name

    Enter jagadmin.

    Password

    Leave blank.

    Topic Subscribers

    Not applicable if Destination Type is selected.

    Status Destination

    Not applicable if Destination Type is selected.

  7. Review connection information on the Summary page. Choose from the following:

    • Edit the connection definition. Click Back to return to the page of the wizard containing that information.

    • Save the connection definition. Click Finish.

    The connection definition appears under the RepConnector profile in the RepConnector Manager view.

  8. (Optional) Define another connection. Repeat the steps in this instruction.

  9. Validate a RepConnector Connection.
