Specify how database development logs events in the Sybase WorkSpace environment.
Select Window|Preferences from the main menu bar.
The Preferences dialog box appears.
In the left pane, expand Sybase, Inc, then expand Database Development and select Logging.
In the Console frame, select console logging preferences:

Enable Console logging | To enable logging to the Eclipse Console view, select the check box (default). To see the Console view, select Window|Show View|Other|Basic|Console. | |
Log level (console) | Select the level of verbosity for console logging: | |
Debug | Designates fine-grained informational events that are useful for debugging an application. | |
Info | Designates informational messages that highlight the progress of the application at a coarse-grained level. | |
Warn | Designates potentially harmful situations. | |
Error | Designates error events that might still allow the application to continue running. | |
Fatal | Designates very severe error events that will presumably lead the application to abort. |
In the Eclipse frame, select Eclipse logging preferences:

In the File frame, select file logging preferences:

Enable file logging | To write logs to the specified file in the file system, select the check box (default). |
Log level (file) | Select the level of verbosity for file logging (see Console logging preferences for details). |
Log file | Click Browse to specify the location and name of the log file to write to. |
Rollover frequency | Select how often the log file should be reset: Daily, Weekly, or Monthly. |
Clear log file on startup | Erases contents of log file each time Sybase WorkSpace is started (default). |
