Adding a Pageflow Action to a Web Application

Use the Palette to add an action to the pageflow of a Web application. You would typically add actions when you link Web pages.

To add a pageflow action:

  1. In the WorkSpace Navigator, expand the project to which you want to add an action, expand webroot, then expand WEB-INF.

  2. Double-click faces-config.xml.

    The JSF Application Configuration Editor opens.

  3. Select the Navigation tab.

    The Navigation page appears displaying the pageflow you created for your Web application.

  4. Click Palette on the Fast View shortcut bar.

    The Palette opens in the perspective.

  5. Select Action on the Palette.

    The Action control is activated..

  6. Click in the diagram where you want to put the control.

    The Edit Binding dialog box appears.

  7. Select the managed bean method that you want to use.

  8. Click OK .

    The action is created and its properties are displayed in the Properties view.

  9. Edit the properties as necessary.

  10. Click Palette on the Fast View shortcut bar.

    The Palette opens in the perspective.

  11. Select Link on the Palette.

    The Link control is activated..

  12. Click on the page or action that you want to link, move the cursor to the action or page to which you want to link to, and click again to release the cursor..

    A line with an arrow appears connecting the page and the action.
